BBC Science Focus: Eating Into Anxiety

Commissioned by BBC Science Focus, I created this editorial illustration for a feature article on how dietary choices—specifically choline intake—can help manage anxiety.

The creative concept revolves around a "nutritional remote control." Picking up on the author's desire to "lower the volume of symptoms," I designed a giant, transparent remote control where the internal components and "buttons" are whole foods rich in brain-boosting nutrients (salmon, eggs, nuts, broccoli). A contemplative figure stands beside it, observing a glowing brain monitor, symbolizing the active regulation of mental health through everyday nutrition.

From an editorial design perspective, the artwork is set against a bold, solid crimson background. This stark contrast allows the intricate, organic textures of the food inside the sleek, geometric remote to truly pop, creating a striking focal point for the magazine's layout.
